Processor, RAM and HDD The standard features of Adamo start with a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo U9300 Processor, 2GB of ram, and a 128GB SSD hard drive. Graphics processor is an Intel GMA 4500MHD with 779MB of graphics ram. Most of the other components are average and can be found on any standard laptop today. As for performance, Adamo is perfectly fine for normal use such as web surfing, working on office projects, and media playback.   Keyboard It has a backlit keyboard with stylized, slightly curved keys. The key press is a little softer than normal which gives the user an easy, excellent typing experience. There are also a couple of multimedia shortcut keys next to the power button. The only drawback is that making out some of the keys without the ambient backlighting turned on can be difficult.   Touchpad The touchpad is on the average side. The sensitivity is good but the size of the touchpad felt a little small with respect to its dimensions. The buttons are firm and require a considerable amount of pressure to click. Adamo’s touchpad provides some additional multitouch capabilities as well. Sometimes the gestures are triggered when it was not intended. You can disable this feature if needed.

Display The display size is 13.4 inches and looks sharp and crisp. Display resolution is 1366X768 with 16:9 HD display. The display has a sleek look but is very susceptible to glare and reflections. The screen hinge is about an inch back from the rear of the Laptop.   Dimension The dimension of the Laptop is 331×242x16mm. The thickness of only 0.65 inches is really thin and is claimed to be the thinnest in the world at time of this writing.   Ports The sides of the Laptop run smooth with the required USB and internet ports at the back. Only the headphone jack and the user-accessible SIM card slot are on the right side. There are two USB ports, a USB/eSATA port, and an Ethernet jack, plus a display port which can be connected to an external monitor or even a home theater system.   Optical Drive There is no built-in Optical Drive, although there is a port which can support an external one.   Weight The Adamo weighs 1.81 kgs (about 4 pounds) which is lightweight compared to other Laptops on the market.

Other Points The laptop has a complementary looking sleek charger that completes the slender look of the Adamo. The laptop comes in two colors: metallic black and silver which Dell calls onyx and pearl.   Price The price of Adamo is on the higher side of the luxury Laptops in this range. It is sold at $1,999 at the time this article was written.   Cons The Adamo is heavy compared to a MacBookAir, which is about a pound lighter than it. Battery does not run as long as Dell specifies it. It runs about three hours on normal operation rather than specified 5+ hours by Dell. Lack of built-in DVD drive. Price is high compared to similar performing laptops. Lacks an SD card slot   Conclusion The Adamo scores on style in many ways. The design displays incredible attention to detail. But seeing the price tag one would expect a higher performing laptop. If you are looking for a value laptop from Dell, Adamo won’t be the right choice for you.
